The USHIO USH-102D, Hg 100W is a 100 watt, 20 volt clear glass mercury short arc lamp. This lamp has a 0.5 millimeter arc gap, a light center length of 43 millimeters and a luminous flux of 2200 lumens. Burn position for the USH-102D is vertical plus or minus 15 Deg.. USHIO's USH short-arc mercury lamps have a tightly confined plasma discharge, high luminance, and ultra-stable arc making them a good choice for microscopy units, diagnostic and industrial analytical equipment, blood analyzers, optical comparators, and UV curing applications.

The Kit also comes with a powerful fan to blow air from the top efficiently (proved to be more efficient than clamp desktop fan) to keep the reactions at room temperature as much as possible. It also comes with light-blocking shields for lab safety, which blocks all UV light and most blue light.
